<h5 style="text-align: justify;">N.B. Per nessun motivo mi riterrò responsabile per eventuali danni arrecati a console cose e persone. Vi ricordo di seguire tutti gli accorgimenti necessari per laorare in sicurezza.</h5>
<p>Il Jaguar è stato il canto del cigno dell&#8217; Atari sono ancora numerose le comunità di appassionati che apprezzano questa poco fortunata console e che vi svipuppano giochi.<br />
Prima di procedere con la guida è importante ricordare a tutti i neo possessori di Jaguar che la console <strong>NON si accende senza gioco inserito</strong>. Quindi prima di procedere a riparare la console, assicuratevi di averla testata con un gioco ed aver eventualmente ben pulito il lettore cartucce con del pulisci contatti.<br />
Il principale motivo che porta il Jaguar a non funzionare è il danneggiamento del suo regolatore di voltaggio U38 ed il vicino condensatore. Spesso accade per aver utilizzato un alimentatore non adatto con polarità invertita. Ricordate che il Jaguar necessita di un alimentatore 9 volt 1A a <strong>polarità negativa.</strong><strong><br />
</strong>Il danneggiamento del componente è generalmente facilmente riscontrabile visivamente (come vedremo in foto) e può causa anche problemi al componente del comparto audio, il REG1.<br />
Cambiando U38, condensatore C138 e REG1 la console tornerà in vita.</p>

<h4 style="text-align: center;">Procedimento</h4>
<p>Apriamo la console svitando le 4 viti poste nella parte inferiore (solo 4&#8230; grazie Atari):</p>

<p>Solleviamo la parte superiore della console, svitiamo le 4 viti interne e liberiamo la parte di metallica dalle lamelle che la ancorano alla base:</p>

<p>Identifichiamo i componenti da sostituire e controlliamone lo stato (generalmente visibilmente danneggiati):</p>

<p>Quindi dissaldiamo il <strong>condensatore C138</strong> ed il chip <strong>U38</strong> aiutandoci con quest&#8217; ultimo del flussante e ripuliamo accuratamente le piazzole prima di installare i nuovi componenti nella console:</p>

<p>Procediamo saldando il nuovo regolatore di voltaggio <strong>MC34163DW</strong> nell&#8217; Atari Jaguar.</p>

<p>Testiamo la console (con un gioco inserito) e se non sentite l&#8217; audio procediamo a sostituire anche il componente <strong>REG1</strong> (<strong>LM78L05ACM</strong>) dell&#8217; Atari Jaguar:</p>

<li>Cacciavite Nintendo 4,5 mm</li>

<li>Spellafilo (opzionale)</li>
<li>Nastro isolante</li>
<li>fascette termorestringenti (opzionale al posto del nastro isolante)</li>
<li>Colla a caldo (consigliato)</li>

<h4 style="text-align: center;"><strong>Importante</strong></h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><em>Prima di cominciare a modificare il <strong>Pc Engine</strong> assicuratevi di avere tutti gli strumenti e di <strong>accendere e spegnere</strong> la vostra console senza alimentazione, in modo da scaricare tutta la corrente che è rimasta al suo interno. Aprire e modificare la console senza averlo fatto, potrebbe danneggiarla.<br />
</em></p>
<h5 style="text-align: justify;">N.B. Per nessun motivo mi riterrò responsabile per eventuali danni arrecati alla console.</h5>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Questa semplice modifica permette di aggiungere un comodissimo led al Pc Engine che ne indica lo stato di accensione. Per questo ho optato per un piccolo led da 3mm (ma se preferita potete scegliere quello da 5mm) collegato direttamente al regolatore di tensione della console. Al fine di non forare il case del Pc Engine ho preferito posizionarlo al di sotto della presa d&#8217; aria nella, parte sinistra.<br />
A voi la scelta del colore e della posizione comunque!</p>
<p><em>Inoltre a seconda del tipo di led e colore scelto dovremo utilizzare una resistenza dal valore appopriato. Io utilizzo una resistenza da 150 ohm poichè ho optato per un 3mm colore rosso. Per maggiori info sulla scelta della resistenza vi consiglio di leggere questo articolo.</em></p>
<h4 style="text-align: center;">Istruzioni</h4>
<p>Iniziamo saldando la resistenza al led e connettendo i cavi (10 cm sono sufficienti). Quindi proteggiamo il tutto con dell fascette termorestringenti:</p>

<p>Procediamo aprendo la console svitando le 4 viti inferiori da 4,5 mm con un cacciavite stile Nintendo:</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Individuiamo il regolatore di tensione della console (nella parte destra della console) e saldiamo il led sullo stesso nei punti indicati:</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Importante</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><em>Prima di cominciare a modificare il <strong>Pc Engine</strong> assicuratevi di avere tutti gli strumenti e di <strong>accendere e spegnere</strong> la vostra console senza alimentazione, in modo da scaricare tutta la corrente che è rimasta al suo interno. Aprire e modificare la console senza averlo fatto, potrebbe danneggiarla.<br />
</em></p>
<h5 style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">N.B. Per nessun motivo mi riterrò responsabile per eventuali danni arrecati alla console.</span></h5>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Questa modifica (<strong>in buona parte compatibile anche con il Tubografx</strong>) permette di avere l&#8217; uscita <strong>RGB</strong> estrapolando il segnale dalla console. Personalmente opto per eliminare la poco utile uscita RF originale del <strong>NEC Pc Engine</strong> al fine di non doverla forare. Inoltre ho scelto di utilizzare come connettore per il cavo RGB un connettore femmina a 9 din, il medesimo utilizzato dal Sega Megadrive 2 così da poter comodamente usare il cavo video che possibilmente già possediamo.<br />
La modifica è derivata dal seguente schema di micro presente su NFGGames:</p>

<p>Procediamo aprendo la console svitando le 4 viti inferiori da 4,5 mm con un cacciavite stile Nintendo:</p>

<p>Tagliamo la stripboard  e cominicamo a saldare le <strong>resistenze da 75 Ohm</strong> ed i <strong>condensatori da 220 <span class="st">μF</span></strong>. Se anche voi utilizzate una stripboard (e non una veroboard) ricordate di <strong>interrompere le traccie</strong> nei punti segnati:</p>

<p>Aggiungiamo con i <strong>2 condensatori elettrolitici da 1 <span class="st">μF</span></strong> della parte audio ed <strong>un jumper</strong>:</p>

<h4 style="text-align: center;">Informazioni generali</h4>
<p>Questa guida nasce per l&#8217; esigenza di avere un <strong>uscita audio esterna ed autonoma</strong>. Nel mio caso l&#8217; ho realizzata per un amico che vuole utilizzare il proprio cavo RGB con jack audio esterno del suo Sega Megadrive anche con il Master System 2 modificato in RGB. La modifica è molto semplice e richiede poche saldature al chip <strong>SONY CXA1145</strong>. Ricordate però che l&#8217; uscita del Sega Master System 2 è <strong>mono</strong> e non stereo. Io utilizzerò cmq un jack stereo per comodità, ma la resa rimarrà mono.<br />

<p>Apriamo la console Sega:</p>

<p>Svitiamo le viti interne, sfiliamo la parte metallica ed estraiamo il PCB del Sega Master System 2:</p>

<p>Quindi giriamo il PCB e individuiamo i punti di saldatura:</p>

<p>Prendiamo il jack e saldiamo i cavi  della massa e dell&#8217; audio.<br />
Se avete anche voi un jack stereo potete saldare un cavo al pin sinistro e d uno al destro per poi  ricondurli entrambi al singolo pin audio del pcb del Sega Master System 2. Oppure potete saldare un unico cavo e poi ponticellare i pin dello jack.<br />
Se utilizzate i connettori RCA il procedimento è il medesimo; massa esterna comune e pin centrale con il segnale audio.</p>

<p>Saldiamo quindi al PCB della console (non fate caso agli altri cavi che fanno parte di una vecchia modifica RGB) il cavo di massa al <strong>pin 1 </strong>del chip e quelli audio al <strong>pin 9</strong> in foto:</p>

<p>Quindi foriamo la parte posteriore del Sega Master System 2 per installare l&#8217; uscita jack. Io ho piegato la parte metallica per evitare ogni contatto:</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">HARDWARE</h3>
<p><strong>Introduzione e informazioni utili</strong>:</p>
<p>Aggiungere un nuovo bios al Sega Dreamcast ha diverse utilità:</p>
<ol>
<li>Permette di installare un firmware che rende il Dreamcast region free (facendo quindi partire giochi JAP, NTSC USA e PAL),</li>
<li>Avere un accattivante logo 3d alla schermata di boot</li>
<li>Poter montare un Hard disk/SD dal quale avviare i giochi tramite Dreamshell.</li>
<li>Impostazioni speciali (a seconda del bios installato)</li>
</ol>
<p>Ci sono due modi per installare il BIOS sulla scheda madre, attraverso sostituzione di quella originale o aggiungendone uno sopra (metodo piggyback).</p>
<p><strong>Sostituzione :<br />

<h4 style="text-align: center;">Sostituzione</h4>
<p><strong>VA0</strong> &#8211; <strong>VA1</strong> &#8211; <strong>VA2.1</strong></p>
<p>Il metodo della sostituzione è semplice da spiegare ma richiede una buona capacità con il saldatore e manualità.<br />
Per prima cosa <strong>va dissaldato il chip Originale</strong> del Sega Dreamcast e ripulite le piazzole.<br />
Per dissaldarlo abbiamo due opzioni: optare per dissaldare i vari piedini con l&#8217; aiuto di un po&#8217; di flussante oppure utilizzare una pistola termica stando attenti a non surriscaldare troppo il componente e puntandolo solo sul chip (evitando quindi di dissaldare quelli vicini):</p>

<p>Saldiamo il nuovo chip <strong>già flashato</strong> con il bios e colleghiamo il <strong>Pin 1 al pin 23</strong> ed il <strong>pin 44 al pin 9</strong> dell&#8217; IC502 (<strong><em>al pin 7 nel caso delle scheda madre VA01</em></strong>).<br />

Per la preparazione del chip potete invece continuare a leggere dato che l&#8217; unica differenza della modifica tra quella del PCB VA1 e VA2 è il pin del chip adiacente al bios da utilizzare, <strong>pin 7</strong> sul bios VA0 <strong>invece pin 9</strong> sul bios VA1:</p>

<p>Iniziamo aprendo la console:</p>

<p>Quindi solleviamo la parte superiore, svitiamo le diverse viti ed estraiamo la scheda d&#8217; alimentazione del Dreamcast. Ricordate di mettere da parte le diverse viti e appuntarvi a cosa corrispondono una volta che dovrete rimontare il tutto:</p>

<p>Procediamo a smontare, solleviamo la parte metallica della la console fino ad arrivare alla scheda madre dove si trova il chip dei bios:</p>

<p>Prendiamo quindi il <strong>chip MX29F1610</strong> e prepariamolo ad essere installato sopra il BIOS originale del Sega Dreamcast. Cominciamo rialzando i pin del chip aiutandoci con un pinza e poi ripiegamoli verso il basso come in foto <strong>ad eccezione dei pin 1, 12 e 44</strong>.</p>

<p>Localizziamo il chip del BIOS originale del Dreamcast e prepariamolo per l&#8217; aggiunta del nuovo chip aggiungendo dello stagno ad ogni suo PIN ad eccezione del PIN 12. Dobbiamo infatti dissaldare e<strong> sollevare il pin 12</strong> stando molto attenti a non romperlo.</p>

<p>Saldiamo quindi i due chip insieme. Consiglio di mettere un po&#8217; di stagno anche sui pin del chip MX29F1610 prima di saldarlo alla Bios originale della console SEGA.</p>

<p>Procediamo con la parte più complessa, ovvero collegare <strong>il pin 44 al pin 9</strong> del chip adiacente. Questo pin è molto piccolo, consiglio quindi di collegare <strong>il pin 44</strong> al punto che ho evidenziato in foto:</p>

<p>Per poter flashare il nuovo bios attraverso il Dreamshell dobbiamo installare un selettore che ci farà selezionare quale chip utilizzare. Colleghiamo come in foto il cavo centrale (nero) della massa al componente in foto (<strong>D501</strong>), quindi un cavo al pin 23 del BIOS originale ed uno al pin 23 del nuovo BIOS del pin MX29F1610:<br />

<p>Prima di richiudiamo la console aggiungiamo per sicurezza del nastro isolante nella piastra metallica del Dreamcast in corrispondenza del BIOS appena installato:</p>

Per comodità è preferibile collegare il PIN 44  del chip MX29F1610 al punto tra i due chip vicini (guardate la foto). Quel punto porta il segnale al pin 9 dell&#8217; IC503.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">SOFTWARE</h3>
<p>Se avete intenzione di cambiare anche la regione del vostro SEGA Dreamcast (PAL, NTSC, JAP) seguite la semplice guida del sito a <a href="https://retroshaker.com/?p=1051&amp;preview=true">QUESTO LINK</a>.</p>
<p>Avviate il Dreamcast. Se questa si avvia normalmente allora il selettore e nella posizione che utilizza il vecchio BIOS originale. Se invece vedete schermata nera significa che state utilizzando il nuovo BIOS che però è ancora da flashare; quindi usate il selettore per selezionare il chip originale, quindi riavviate e dovreste vedere comparire il logo del Dreamcast.</p>
<p>Ben fatto, la parte dedicata all&#8217; hardware è terminata. Continuiamo quindi flashando il BIOS del Dreamcast.</p>
<p>Avviamo il cd del Dreamshell e attendiamo che il menu venga caricato. Se non l&#8217; avete, allora dovete scaricarlo e copiarlo su un cd.<br />
Ecco dove scaricare il Dreamshell in file CDI con diverse versioni di Bios (originale e non)(al momento della stesura di questa guida) dal sito <strong>dc-swat.ru</strong>: <a href="http://www.dc-swat.ru/download/dc/ds/4.0/DreamShell_4.0.0_RC4_CDI_Image.7z">QUI</a>.</p>
<p>Esiste anche un bios più recente con interessanti funzioni creata da <em>japanese_cake</em> che potete scaricare <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/71bvzm5e1bnzcb5/jc-bootROM-v1.032.zip">QUI</a>. Se avete intenzione di scaricare quest&#8217; ultima, dovreste però creare un file immagine (.cdi) da masterizzare ed inserire il firmware nel Dreamshell creando un nuovo file CDI. Ho comunque creato personalmente il file, lo troverete più in basso.<br />

<p>Possiamo quindi scegliere tra i firmware presenti nella cartella DC, quelli nella cartella SEGA ( dove è presente il japanese cake). Clicchiamo poi su &#8220;<strong>WRITE</strong>&#8221; e dopo aver scelto il firmware del bios che preferiamo.</p>

<p>Al termine dell&#8217; installazione potete spegnere il Dreamcast e riavviare la console con il nuovo BIOS!<br />
La modifica è terminata possiamo optare di rimanere soltando con il nuovo bios (dissaldando lo switch), oppure mantenerlo e poter così selezionare a nostro piacere tra la bios originale del Sega Dreamcast e quello nuovo.</p>

Se il vostra Sega Dreamcast non legge più i vostri giochi, allora il laser necessita di essere revisionato. Prima di optare per la drastica sostituzione del gruppo ottico vi consiglio di seguire <a href="https://retroshaker.com/2018/06/sega-dreamcast-ritaratura-laser">la mia guida</a> dove sono presenti informazioni sui diversi modelli dei gruppi ottici utilizzati dal Dreamcast e dove potrete leggere come ritarare il laser della console Sega ed in caso capire quale modello di laser acquistare.</p>
<p>Se invece avete già provato la ritaratura e non è andata a buon fine, allora continuate pure a leggere.</p>
<p>Apriamo il Dreamcast e smontiamo l&#8217; unità ottica originale della console:</p>

<p>Solleviamo la parte superiore dell&#8217; unità ottica e scolleghiamo il <strong>cavo flat</strong> che la collega a quella inferiore:</p>

<p>Prendiamo il nuovo laser (nel mio caso un <strong>SPU-3200</strong>), localizziamo il<strong> punto di saldatura antistatico</strong> e dissaldiamolo come in foto con il saldatore.</p>

<p>Estraiamo dal vecchio laser il <strong>componente di plastica</strong> che permette lo scorrimento sul binario dell&#8217; unità ottica del Sega Dreamcast e rimontiamolo sul nuovo laser.</p>

Il sega Dreamcast è rimasta nei cuori di tutti gli appassionati di retrogame per il suo immenso potenziale e le innovazioni che ha portato nel mondo dei videogiochi. Tra le sue caratteristiche è però presente una lettore GD-Rom che purtroppo è solito presentare problemi di taratura col passare del tempo (anche a causa del continuo uso di CD masterizzati negli anni).<br />
Possiamo tentare di far tornare indietro le lancette dell&#8217; orologio e ritarare il Dreamcast per fare in modo che il laser torni ai fasti di un tempo, o quasi..<br />
<strong>La ritaratura dell&#8217; laser risolve il problema nell&#8217; 70-80% dei casi</strong>, e vede come unica alternativa la sostituzione del gruppo lente oppure una modifica radicale con l&#8217; installazione del GDEmu o similare.<br />
Ma andiamo con ordine.</p>
<p>Il Sega Dreamcast indistintamente dalla regione (PAL , JAP , USA) montava principalmente due diversi lettori ottici: <strong>Yamaha</strong> e <strong>Samsung</strong> con piccole varianti (estetiche e funzionale):</p>

<p>Generalmente sembra possibile montare l&#8217; SPU-3200 nei lettori Samsun, ma <strong>non viceversa</strong> (non l&#8217; ho mai verificato).</p>
<p>Attenzione, il 90% dei laser che acquistate su ebay e affini sono usati e non funzionano. Nel caso migliore necessitano di una taratura e ovviamente della rimozione della protezione.</p>
<p><strong>Prima di procedere alla ricalibrazione consiglio di fare un semplice tentativo ripulendo il laser con un cotton-fioc imbevuto nell&#8217; alcol e passandolo delicatamente sulla lente del laser del Dreamcast. Talvolta il problema di un laser e semplicemente un po&#8217; di sporco sulla sua superfice.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Procediamo con la ritaratura della lente del Sega Dreamcast</strong>:<br />
Apriamo quindi la console, estraiamo il modem laterale e svitiamo le quattro viti di colore nero:</p>

<p>Localizziamo (facilmente) il voluminoso GD-Rom del Sega Dreamcast, controlliamone il modello e procediamo a liberare i cavi del laser dai gancetti laterali:</p>

Nel mio caso rileva 620 ohm. Appuntatevi questo valore in modo che non perdiate il suo valore predefiinito come metro di misura futuro.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Questo è il valore di fabbrica della vostra lente (sempre che qualcuno non l&#8217; abbia aperta precedentemente e ritentato una taratura).  <strong>Al fine di non bruciare la lente non bisognerebbe mai distanziarsi di più di 150/200 ohm dal valore di fabbrica</strong>. Nel mio caso non dovrei mai scendere sotto i 450 ohm ad esempio.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Il trimmer della Dreamcast è molto sensibile, quindi necessita di <strong>movimenti di pochi gradi</strong>, quasi impercettibili. Ad ogni tentativo appuntatevi il valore e rimontate sommariamente la console e testatela.<br />

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Fate molta attenzione nel caso volete testarla da aperta, nella parte sinistra della console è presente il circuito di alimentazione dove passano <span style="color: #ff0000;">220v</span>. Quindi fate <span style="color: #ff0000;">molta attenzione</span>.</strong></p>

<p>Generalmente i laser dei GD-Rom Yamaha montati nei primi modelli di Dreamcast erano leggermente migliori e più affidabili ed hano valori di fabbrica più alti (intorno agli 800/100 ohm).<br />
Dovete armarvi di tanta pazienza e provare un infinità di volte per trovare il giusto valore che vi permette di avere un ottima lettura, quindi consiglio di testarla con giochi che hanno un video iniziale e controllare se questo risulta fluido.</p>
<p>Se dopo mille tentativi e 5 camomille vi parte solo un gioco o meno e il Dreamcast legge solo sotto i 400 ohm, allora non perdete ulteriore tempo. Dovete cambiare il laser o l&#8217; intero lettore (in quest&#8217; ultimo caso controllatene sempre il voltaggio, 3.3v o 5v)</p>
<p>So che è possibile utilizzare dei laser anche da lettori di vecchi pc (ad esempio il Creative CD5233E), ma non n ho esperienza diretta e si andrà in contro a limitazioni (leggere solo copie backup, impossibilità di leggere CD-RW, possibili riadattamenti del vano, etc..)</p>
<p>In alternativa potete optare per una <strong>SD-mod</strong> o <strong>GD-emu</strong>, abolendo di fatto il lettore.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><em>Prima di cominciare a modificare il <strong>Sega Master System 2</strong> assicuratevi di avere tutti gli strumenti e di <strong>accendere e spegnere</strong> la vostra console senza alimentazione, in modo da scaricare tutta la corrente che è rimasta al suo interno. Aprire e modificare la console senza averlo fatto, potrebbe danneggiarla.<br />
</em></p>
<h5 style="text-align: justify;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">N.B. Per nessun motivo mi riterrò responsabile per eventuali danni arrecati alla console.</span></h5>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Questa modifica ci permette di estrapolare il segnale <strong>RGB</strong> dalla console per avere un immagine di maggiore qualità rispetto all&#8217; uscita RF originale del <strong>Sega Master System 2</strong>. Inoltre ho scelto di utilizzare come connettore per il cavo RGB un connettore femmina a 9 din, il medesimo utilizzato dal Sega Megadrive 1 o dallo stesso Sega Master System 1, in modo da poter comodamente usare il cavo video che possibilmente già possediamo o comuqnue per non avere troppi cavi per casa.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Incominciamo dapprima  creando la nostra modifica; tagliamo quindi una <strong>scheda forata</strong> della dimensione di 9&#215;16 fori. Saldiamo quindi i condensatori, quattro <strong>condensatori da <span style="text-decoration: underline;">220 </span></strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span class="st"><strong>μF</strong></span></span> ed uno da <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>10</strong> <span class="st"><strong>μF</strong></span></span>. Proseguiamo saldando i diversi cavi (preferibilmente colorati da circa 20 cm l&#8217; uno) di input ed output seguendo questo schema (grazie Mike Gordon):</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Prima di collegare il nostro circuito alla console ed al connettore 9 din, consiglio di praticare il foro per l&#8217; uscita RGB nella parte posteriore della console.<br />
Per far questo apriamo la Sega Master System 2, svitando le diverse viti ed estraiamo la scheda madre in modo da poter lavorare agevolmente sulle sue plastiche.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Prima di chiudere la console e fermare la modifica con la colla a caldo, consiglio di testare il tutto e godervi un anteprima del Sega Master System 2 in RGB.<br />
In seguito al test della modifica, rimontiamo la console e fermiamo il tutto con la colla a caldo. Consiglio inoltre di mettere del nastro adesivo sul rivestimento metallico inferiore della console per evitare possibili contatti con i punti di saldatura.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">La <strong>Sony Playstation PSX Desr</strong> è una console che è stata messa sul mercato solo su territorio nipponico dal 2003 al 2007 e vantava per quegli anni caratteristiche di altissimo livello (il prezzo della console si aggirava intorno alle 80000 Yen, circa 700/800 Euro).<br />
Se possedete la console conoscete già le sue caratteristiche: Hard disk da 160 o 250 GB, XMB, masterizzatore interno, etc.. Sapete quindi anche quanto sia purtroppo fragile nella sua struttura interna.<br />
Tra i problemi che possono affliggere questa console c&#8217;è quello legato alla lettura dei giochi. La PSX desr ha al suo interno 2 differenti laser; uno dedicato alla lettura di CD e DVD, l&#8217; altro riconosce il tipo di supporto e masterizza.<br />
Molte delle console funzionano correttamente ma non leggono i supporti in DVD (o li leggono solo attraverso la modifica <strong>free mcboot</strong>). Perchè? Le ragioni possono essere diverse. E&#8217; fondamentale però comprendere la causa del malfunzionamento.<br />
Il lettore della console Sony adibito al riconoscimento del laser (e alla masterizzazione) viene messo in funzione <strong>dopo</strong> l&#8217; avvio del XMB (il menu per intenderci) e se non riconosce il tipo di supporto, l&#8217; altro lettore non viene messo in funzione. Se i giochi partono attraverso free mcboot, allora significa che è il secondo lettore ottico (quello appunto adibito al riconoscimento del supporto) ad avere problemi; infatti la modifica con free mcboot bypassa quel lettore e l&#8217; avvio dell&#8217; xmb, ed utilizza direttamente il laser per i giochi.<br />
Prima di acquistare un laser di ricambio, possiamo provare semplicemente a pulire il secondo lettore della PSX desr, che moltissime volte risolve il problema.<br />
I gruppi ottici montati dalla <strong>Sony PSX Desr</strong> sono:</p>

<p>Apriamo quindi la console: estraiamo i piedini di gomma e i copri vite di plastica, svitiamo le varie viti e facciamo scorrere la parte posteriore con un po&#8217; di pressione. Svitiamo quindi le ultime due viti che mantengono chiusa la console:</p>

<p>Scolleghiamo il cavo flat come  in foto.<br />
Cogliamo l&#8217; occasione anche per estrarre gli elementi laterali di plastica della console estraendo i tappi trapezoidali (posizionati ai due estremi degli elementi della Sony PSX) e premendo la barra di metallo come nella prima foto. Estraiamo inoltre i due cavetti flat.</p>

<p>Sfiliamo il supporto che ricopre i laser e puliamoli con un piccolo panno morbido (o con un bastoncino di ovatta) <strong>imbevuto con alcool</strong> . Richiudiamo quindi la Sony PSX Desr dopo aver anche pulito le altre parti della console, ventola compresa per evitare che la polvere si sposti nuovamente sui delicati laser.</p>

<p>Se la console continua ad avere problemi non ci resta che acquistare i laser di ricambio.<br />
Se invece la console PSX ha ricominciato a leggere i giochi, potete valutare la possibilità di procedere alla <strong>modifica component</strong> (invece di acquistare un raro cavo d-terminal).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><em>Prima di cominciare a modificare la vostra console assicuratevi di avere tutti gli strumenti e di <strong>accendere e spegnere</strong> la vostra console senza alimentazione, in modo da scaricare tutta la corrente che è rimasta al suo interno. Aprire e modificare la console senza averlo fatto, potrebbe danneggiarla e possibilmente costringervi poi a cambiare il fusibile della nes.</em><br />
<em> Accesa la console, dovreste poter vedere il led della Nintendo illuminarsi per meno di un secondo. Fatto questo possiamo cominciare la modifica!</em></p>
<h5 style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">N.B. Per nessun motivo mi riterrò responsabile per eventuali danni arrecati alla console.</span></h5>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Se la nostra console non legge più i giochi (o li legge con grande fatica) e siete stanchi di soffiare nella cartuccia nella speranza che il gioco parta, allora è importante comprendere che la Nintendo Nes non è più una ragazzina e che gli anni si fanno sentire, ma noi possiamo comunque aiutarla a ringiovanire. Le cartuccce dei giochi non vengono più lette poichè i contatti all&#8217; interno della console si sono allentati con il tempo e sporcati (quanti hanno la cattiva abitudine di lasciare la cartuccia inserita nella console?!), portando la console a non riconoscere il gioco inserito e di conseguenza il classico lampeggiare del led; <strong>il blinking</strong> appunto.<br />
Dobbiamo allora procedere tramite prodotti dedicati alla pulizia del contatti elettrici. Questa procedura risolve il problema nel 90% dei casi.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Cominciamo aprendo la console e svitiamo le numerose viti al suo interno.</p>

Estraiamo la scheda madre della Nintendo NES e, aiutandoci con un bastoncino di ovatta imbevuto con il pulisci contatti, <strong>puliamone i contatti</strong> dove va inserito il connettore<strong> da entrambe le parti</strong> della scheda. I contatti vanno puliti con<strong> movimenti verticali</strong>, uno ad uno.</p>

Se non l&#8217; avete già fatto in passato, questa è una buona occasione per modificare la nostra <strong><a href="https://retroshaker.com/2015/09/nes-free-region/">Nintendo NES e renderla Free region</a></strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Qualora la console non leggesse ancora i giochi,  potete provare come ultima spiaggia a ricurvare i pin del connettore anche nella parte interna. Per farlo dovete estrarre tutti i 72 pin dal connettore ed incurvare leggermente la parte finale come in foto.<br />
